I-Lan Park in Leawood is a great park for runners, the trails go for several miles and connect to other parks and trails in the area, like Tomahawk creek park.
Do you find you choose a mix of hills and flatter ground for interval running or do you have a preference of one or the other? Since I'm just starting in my neighborhood, I feel like I'm avoiding the hills, will this come with time?
My running distance is based on how much time I have that day to devote to running. Time less then 30min's I run 2miles, an hour I run 4miles, and no time limit 6-10 miles.
Running 2 or 4 miles is the most common, I try to run minimum 3 days a week. 5 days a week is my norm.
Bikes are just as common as runners in I-Lan Park.I plan on running at Lonkview this summer, an suggestions on a specific trail that would be good to run?

ReplyDeleteWhen first starting to run I avoided hills as well, as my endurance improved and my legs got stronger I found hills were my favorite part of the run.

Can you ride bikes there also? I love to ride my bike and it would be great to find some new trials. Now I bike a lot at Longview Lake!
